The Big Cheese Adventure!!!

The Big Cheese Adventure!

CHEESE LOVERS REJOICE!!! Your safe haven has been found and it's right at the heart of our little red dot! Located just outside Bencoolen MRT station at Sunshine plaza, it is a short walk away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT : if you are from the North-East or North-South lines.

This petite eatery occupying a small corner of Sunshine plaza is barely noticable because of its tiny size. Seating is very very limited as there is just about 6 seats or so in the eatery itself so having it to-go is common here. First impression when you enter is the smell, the intense aroma of cheese just overwhelms you. Beware to those who hates the smell of cheese - I warned ya!

The Menu here is pretty Simple but wide at the same time as they technically only have one main item on it, can you guess what it is? That's right the good old mac & cheese! For only $5.90 you get to customise your very own mac & cheese! From pasta choices, to type of cheese and an array of toppings to pick from! You can be your own chef and go crazy with your mac!

Other than the customizable mac & cheese, they also have cheesy side dishes to go with and I tried the Cheesy potato skins as everyone knows cheese and potatoes are a match made in heaven. They are a little pricey as compared to their main dish counterpart but it's hard to say no to cheese and potatoes. Priced at $4.90 for 3 cheesy potato skins I would say it isn't worth the price as for a dollar more you can get the mac & cheese but the taste itself is tasty as stringy melty cheese and bacon bits all over the oven baked potato skins : who would not like it?!

Cheesy Potato Skins ($4.90)

Next up is the main attraction! Mac and cheese! I built mine with penne, chicken sausage, sunny side up egg with mozzarella and parmesan cheese! They are packed in these cute american-chinese takeout boxes and man they are packed to the brim. These cute little boxes are packed full of cheesy goodness, some say a little too much but hey better value for money ya?

Take a look at the amount of cheese on a single penne! Yummy stringy cheese stretching from the box itself!!! The penne with the cheese is really filling so those with small appetites, sharing is recommended but if your hungry I recommend trying the sides with your mac!

The pasta was well cooked as even though it was soaked in the melty cheese, it was still Al dente and springy. The amount of cheese was also very generous as each and every piece of my pasta was covered in it! However the amount of meat given could be improved as there was very little meat found in my box. But for $5.90, I would say it is worth a try if your looking for a affordable meal if your near the area!
